As a community, we will follow the CPS guidelines for COVID-19 protocols listed below.
What if my child is experiencing COVID-19 like symptoms?
Stay home
Notify your healthcare provider
Get tested for COVID-19 or obtain a note from your healthcare provider with an alternative diagnosis before returning to a CPS building
What Happens if a child is symptomatic at school?
Students exhibiting COVID symptoms will be removed from the classroom and masked until a parent/guardian can pick them up from school
Students and families have access to school provided rapid tests to take home
Students will be able to return to school as long as they test negative and are fever free for 24 hours without the use of medications and other symptoms are improving
Students testing positive will be required to isolate at home for 5 days and will mask for days 6-10 upon their return
Students will mask for days 1-10 following the onset of symptoms
What happens if my child tests positive?
Report positive cases to cps.edu/covidresults
Anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 should isolate for 5 days
Masks are worn to school on days 6-10 after testing positive for COVID-19
