Our library brings stories and research to life for our entire school community. Whether students are picking out their next favorite chapter book, diving into a research project, or mastering digital literacy skills, the library offers the space and resources every student needs to read deeply, think critically, and dream big.
Volunteer in the Library!
We're calling on community volunteers to lend a hand in the library! Assistance is needed to check books in and out, re-shelve titles, and support our school with everyday tasks like bulletin boards, copying, and laminating.
Mrs. Toomey will organize projects from teachers across the school that need a helping hand as well.
What to Expect as a Volunteer
• Before & After: Please arrive a few minutes early to get settled, and stay to assist with checkout, shelving, and quick cleanup as needed.
• No Prep Required: All library procedures and tasks are preorganized, so you can simply show up and support our students and librarian!
• Focus: To help keep the focus on the students, siblings cannot attend during volunteer time.
• Privacy & Focus: No photos should be taken during library time to help create a focused, respectful, and engaging environment for everyone.
If you’re a Level 1 or Level 2 approved volunteer and interested in joining the fun, click below to view the schedule by classroom or non-student times. We can’t wait to have you join us!
Sign up by classroom time or Library Prep & Teacher Tasks for processing books and supporting schoolwide teacher projects.

Meet our Librarian

Jennifer Toomey, M. Ed
Librarian
Hi Readers!
I am so excited to be Hamilton’s librarian! I hold a Bachelor's from DePaul, a Master’s from National Louis University, and a Library Science endorsement from the University of Illinois. With over 30 years of teaching experience (from Kindergarten to college grads!), I love sharing my passion for books. When I’m not in the library, you can find me exploring local bookstores, walking, concert going, or spending quality time with my husband and two 20-something kids.
