Volunteer in the Classroom

What to Expect as a Volunteer

ID Required at Entry: Every volunteer must present a valid driver’s license or state ID at the security desk upon every visit—no exceptions.

Respect Classroom Boundaries: Please report directly to your assigned volunteering location. Unscheduled drop-ins to your child’s classroom are strictly prohibited to avoid interrupting instructional time.

Security Roster Check: Security personnel will now maintain an updated list of CPS-approved volunteers for the Library and Art Lab. If your name does not appear on the roster, security cannot grant access to volunteer spaces.

Before & After: We ask that volunteers arrive a few minutes early, follow the ArtLab lead, and assist with setup, student support, and cleanup as needed.

No Prep Required: All of our art projects are preplanned and organized, so you can simply show up and help support the class.

Focus: To help keep the focus on the students, we kindly ask that siblings not attend during volunteer time.

Privacy & Focus: We kindly ask that parents do not take photos during ArtLab time. This helps us create a focused, respectful, and engaging environment for all students.
