Extra/Ordinary- Calling All Artists!!

Call for Submissions: Chicago Public Schools’ Student Art Showcase. Another CPS showcase? Yes!!

What makes a world extraordinary? What does an ordinary object look like in an extraordinary world? 

Submissions are now open for Extra/Ordinary: A Showcase of Chicago Public Schools’ Student Art. In partnership with the Art Institute of Chicago’s Teen Council and the CPS Arts Student Voice Committee, this exhibition of student art will highlight 3-D artwork by CPS students in grades Pre-K–12 from any CPS school (including district-managed, charter, contract, and options schools). To submit, complete this application before 11:59 p.m. CST on Sunday, January 25, 2026. Selected artworks will be featured on the Art Institute’s website and displayed in the museum’s Ryan Learning Center.

¿Qué hace que un mundo sea extraordinario? ¿Cómo se ve un objeto ordinario cuando el mundo es extraordinario?

En colaboración con el Concilio adolescente del Instituto de Arte de Chicago y el Comité de opinión estudiantil sobre las artes de CPS, la exhibición Extra/Ordinario resalta obras de arte tridimensional por estudiantes de prekínder a duodécimo grado de cualquier escuela de CPS (incluyendo las escuelas administradas por el Distrito, las chárter, las de contrato y las optativas). 

Para presentar sus obras, favor completar esta solicitud antes de las 11:59 p. m. CST el domingo, 25 de enero de 2026. Las obras elegidas aparecerán en el sitio web del Instituto de Arte y expuestas en el intercambio de arte del Ryan Learning Center.
